| Home-Start Dundee aims to
empower families through the personal relationship which
they develop with the volunteer.
Home-Start believes that children need a happy and secure
childhood and that parents play the key role in giving
their children a good start in life and helping them achieve
their full potential.
Home-Start Dundee will accept a referral from any source
as long as:-
- The family has agreed to the referral
- The family has at least one child under five years
of age
Once a family has been referred and a referral form has
been received one of the Co-ordinators will arrange to
visit the family to discuss their needs and answer any
questions.
The Co-ordinator will endeavour to match the family as
quickly as possible, however, occasionally a family may
need to wait for a suitable volunteer to become available.
Once a volunteer is introduced to the family the Referrer
will be notified of this. A family choose whether or not
to accept Home-Start support and also when the match should
end.
Home-Start Dundee aims to ensure that confidentiality
is not breached except where there is a concern about
the safety or welfare of a child.
