Established in December 1998, the Forum was set up for workers who provide a service to young parents up to the age of 21.
The Forum has established the following aims:-
-
To share information, skills and resources;
-
To exchange ideas;
-
To establish co-ordinated approach in terms of information giving about services available and explore imaginative and innovative ways of encouraging young parents to take up these services and to establish a procedure of identifying service users.
The Forum consists of representatives from Family Support Centres, Health Services, Educational Services and Voluntary Organisations.
The meetings are informal and the format is as follows:- appropriate speaker for 20-30 minutes with an opportunity to question and discuss topic, then information exchange when each member shares news and/or updates information about their agency.
Home-Start Dundee is presently chairing the meetings and these are held quarterly at their offices at 30 Whitehall Street (3rd floor left) Dundee.
If you are interested in finding out more or coming to any of the meetings please contact Alison Kettles at Home-Start, Telephone 202040 or e-mail alison@homestart-dundee.org.uk
