Home-Start Dundee Volunteers, who know about being a parent,
support other parents.
Home-Start Dundee volunteers, who are normally parents
themselves, are all ages and come from all walks of life.
Volunteers attend a preparation course, normally one session
per week over a period of eight weeks, in order to prepare
them for their role. Volunteers are also required to provide
two references and complete an enhanced disclosure check.
At the end of the course if volunteers wish to proceed
they are introduced to a family by the Co-ordinator, who
will continue to support the volunteer throughout the
time they are matched to the family.
Volunteers receive regular support from their Co-ordinator
and have access to ongoing training, events and volunteer
support meetings.
Volunteers receive all out of pocket expenses.
