Home Visiting Volunteers --- Trustee Volunteers

Home-Start Dundee is managed by a voluntary Board of Trustees made up of local people who are interested in the aims of Home-Start, together with representatives from Social Work, Health Visiting, Early Years and Childcare Partnership.

Our Trustees are also volunteers and without them Home-Start Dundee could not function and families would not get the support they need.

Being a Trustee is rewarding and gives many chances for personal development and also the chance to give something back to your local community. Our Trustees come from all walks of life, bringing their experience and individual skills.

You don’t need special qualifications to be a Trustee, but the following skills are important:-

- Common sense
- An ability to work as part of a team
- An understanding of the pressures facing parents today
- A genuine interest in supporting parents in Dundee

Other skills, although not necessary, would be of use are:-

- Business skills
- Personnel management
- Finance
- Fundraising

The Board of Trustees is responsible for:-

- Making charity effective
- Providing overall direction
- Maintaining sound management of funds

Their job is to ensure that the resources in the charity are used effectively to further the objects of Home-Start Dundee and for the purpose which they were given.

To get further information or to become a member of the Board of Trustees please contact the Home-Start office.
