Home-Visiting

Trained Volunteers (who are normally parents themselves) are matched to families, offering practical and emotional support.
Volunteers visit families weekly offering tailored support for a minimum of two hours per week. Volunteers are non-judgemental and can offer a listening ear, a helping hand or assistance to get to appointments etc.

Family Group

Our Family Group is held weekly at the Central Baptist Church, Dundee. This group is friendly and supportive and offers families the chance to meet others in a similar situation and offer one another peer support.
There is a structured programme at this group offering information, training and guidance on a wide variety of topics, such as child development, first aid, health and wellbeing and many more.

*As this is a closed group families must be referred into this group.

Young Parents Group

Our Young Parents Group is a small nurture group supporting parents aged 25 and under and their pre-school children. This group is held twice weekly at our offices at 3rd Floor, 30 Whitehall Street, Dundee.  This group has a structured programme and has covered a wide variety of topics such as health and wellbeing, child development, healthy eating, confidence building and many more.  Our Young Parents have also taken part in accredited courses such as First Aid and The Parents Progression Pathway – this has given some of our Young Parents the opportunity and confidence to move into further education or employment.

*As this is a closed group families must be referred into this group.

Healthy Choices

Our Healthy Choices Project, funded by Scottish Government, aims to improve Oral Health and provide families with infants and toddlers accurate and unbiased information and guidance about healthy infant feeding and nutrition.
Our Healthy Choices Co-ordinator can offer advice and support on Breast and Bottle Feeding, Weaning and Healthy Eating.
This support can be through our groups, home-visiting support by our Healthy Choices Co-ordinator and also online through our Facebook page.

Breast Buddies

Our Breast Buddies Project, supported by NHS Tayside, aims to improve breastfeeding rates in Dundee and offers support on all aspects of breastfeeding.

This support is through peer support groups (which are also open to pregnant mums), one to one home visiting in Mum’s own home and online support.

There are various peer support groups across the city in Cafes/Community spaces facilitated by our Breast Buddies Co-ordinator and trained volunteer peer supporters. We also hold a small weekly nurture group within our offices run by our Breast Buddies Co-ordinator.

Support can also be offered through one to one support in Mum’s own home and also by online support through our Facebook page.
